Are We Overthinking Food?

I like to include lots of micro & macronutrients in my meals, but I certainly don’t count them. For example, there are no carbohydrates in the meal above, & that is 100% ok. These days it is very easy to get caught up in making every meal perfectly ‘balanced’ & loaded with protein/veggies/superfoods/etc etc, when really, simple is best.

Concerning yourself over having perfectly nutritious and Instagram-worthy meals 3 times a day is energy better spent elsewhere, as far as I’m concerned! I am gung-ho for nutrient-density, I’m a Naturopath after all, don’t get me wrong! However, there are many other factors that contribute how my meals look. Time, environment, finances, company, options, location, cravings, my mood, any nutritional deficiencies, this list could go on & on! You get the point.

Eat real food, eat the best quality you can, eat in a relaxed & mindful state... Those would be my top ‘diet’ (cringe) tips.

How you eat is extremely important, not just what you eat. I would love to know some of your thoughts on this! How do you think about your food habits & meals?
